Brock11 is currently searching for a Production Manager. Our client, a leading North American food manufacturer, seeks an experienced individual to manage production operations within their manufacturing facility. The Production Manager is accountable for the performance of their assigned area, ensuring success in five key performance areas: People, Safety, Quality, Customer Service, and Cost Efficiency. This position is integral to delivering on production goals and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.


We are filling for 1st and 2nd shift. There are three levels for these positions. The pay ranges are:

Entry-Level - $52,000-$60,000 plus bonus

Mid-Level - $60,000-$70,000 plus bonus

Lead Production Manager - $80,000-$90,000 plus bonus



Position Description:

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing day-to-day operations of a designated area within the production facility. This role requires ensuring the area achieves optimal performance in key performance indicators (KPIs), including but not limited to Retention, OSHA Recordable Rate, First Time Quality (FTQ), Production Attainment, Waste Yield, Operational Downtime, and Labor Efficiency.

The Production Manager must be aware of real-time performance in these KPIs and have systems in place to measure and report progress on a shift-by-shift basis.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Consistently deliver production demand within the assigned area.

Establish and communicate daily run-orders for production demand.

Develop and manage employee schedules to maximize performance across KPIs.

Ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are established, maintained, and that employees are properly trained.

Implement tracking and reporting systems for KPI performance.

Provide visible and accessible KPI reporting to all employees in the area.

Manage operational issues to ensure maximum KPI performance.

Foster a culture of continuous improvement through collaboration with peers and leadership.

Ensure employees possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for effective performance.

Collaborate with other Production Managers to promote efficient production operations.

Manage payroll, documentation, and operational records accurately.


Qualifications for Position:


Knowledge:

Understanding of product lines and raw materials used in the production area.

Familiarity with computer systems, including production and reporting tools.

Comprehensive knowledge of production equipment, its function, and capabilities.

Familiarity with employee roles and capabilities within the area.

Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP plans.

Expertise in tracking, analyzing, and improving KPI performance.


Skills:

Strong coaching, leadership, and team-building capabilities.

Excellent problem identification and resolution skills.

Proficiency in basic math and algebra.

Mechanical aptitude and technical awareness.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Effective verbal and written communication skills.


Abilities:

Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives through a combination of technical knowledge, leadership, and interpersonal skills.


Essential Functions:

Ability to work in fluctuating temperature environments, including both refrigerated and non-refrigerated areas:

Process Rooms: 40 to 55°F

Coolers: 32 to 40°F

Freezers: -20 to 32°F

Blast Freezers: -15 to 0°F

Non-refrigerated Areas: 55 to 85°F or higher

Ability to lift and move items ranging from 25 to 50 pounds.

Frequent standing, walking, talking, and hearing; use of hands to handle or operate equipment; occasional stooping or kneeling.

Operation of various production equipment and pallet jacks.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Three to five years of experience in a production management role, preferably in food manufacturing.
